Hi! I'm Tobey and my mom is writing this for me. I live with my sister, Daisy. We do lots of fun things everyday.

My other sister, Teg, was my best friend. I think about her all the time and that makes me happy.

I have 5 people and you know who they are! I really miss the ones that aren't here ... so this is for you.

Ann Arbor

Dad had Veteran's Day off from work, so we decided to take a road trip to Ann Arbor.
We got to our very pet friendly hotel late in the afternoon, checked in, ate our kibble and then took a LONG walk all over Ann Arbor.

Did you know that Ann Arbor is Pet Friendly everywhere?

We made a lot of friends.

While Mom and Dad had dinner at  Gratzi Daisy and I whined slept in the car.

By the time we got back to the hotel, we were soooo tired.

Needed to rest up cause tomorrow was going to be a big day.

First stop:

ZINGERMAN'S

It was gonna be a long wait.

But sooooo worth it.

Just before you're actually let inside, they give you a tasty treat.

Kind of a thank you for waiting so long.

FYI:

This is probably the only NON-PET FRIENDLY place in Ann Arbor.

Daisy and I had to wait in the car while Mom and Dad shopped and ate their way through the deli.

Mom made friends with the sample guy.

I thought this was only an urban myth.

Dad always looks happy just before his food comes.

After Zingerman's, we were released from the prison car and went for a long walk.

Stranger #1
Of course he had Dachshunds growing up.

 Farmer's market.

You can't see me cause I'm down under ...

I enjoy colorful produce.

And being petted by Stranger #2.

OOPS.
Guess we started at the wrong end.

Stranger #3
Of course she had a Dachshund growing up.

Daisy was a little scaredy cat about city noises.
Especially cars.

I tried to model good city skills for her.

My kinda place.

Daisy likes to browse inside shops.

But sometimes she settles for window shopping only.

Strangers #4 and #5.
They don't have a history with dachshunds, but they do have a lab who is so big "we could both ride on top of him".
Charming.

I really wanted to go inside this shop, but it's #2 NON PET FRIENDLY place.
Rats.

Pretty profound for street signage.

These doors are really dangerous.
Nothing inside here is worth the risk...

Welcome to Bivouac!

The BEST Pet Friendly store in Ann Arbor.

Daisy was acting a little squirrely and no one was sure why.

Not gonna agree with her fashion sense (gold tights?), but I let her pet me anyway.

Yes, I licked her toes.

Mom apologized for me, but the nice tasting lady said it was ok.

:)

 They've gotta bear in there.

Pretty cool hydrant but it got a little funky towards the bottom.

Dad playing angry birds getting directions on his new iPhone.

I guess you gotta GO BLUE or go home.

No picture of Stranger #6, but he lives here.

He said "I really, really like your dogs."

I'm taking that as a "really" for each of us.

Stranger #7

No history with Dachshunds, but she really likes dogs in general.

Student housing.
Smells really good.
Kinda like pizza and burgers rolled into one.

Again, my kinda place.

Dad took this picture to prove Mom was with us.

Don't have pictures of Strangers #8 through #56 cause they were either too shy or too fast for Mom's camera.

But I do want to send a shout out to Stranger #56.

She asked Mom and Dad if she could pet us because she was having a "lame day."

Hope we made it better.

Awwww … our walk and time in Ann Arbor was over too soon.
Ann Arbor, you'll be hard to beat.

  1. Looks like fun! I get scared too when I'm in the big city if I'm not right next to Mom's legs.
